Tim Sutton, who writes and films everything on TimTalksCoffee
Tim Sutton · CoffeeGeekTV

I have filmed 36 coffee videos. This is where I write the rest down.

Coffee gear, tested and filmed when I own it, and clearly labelled when I have researched it instead. The useful part is the compromise: what I would buy, what I would skip, and why.

The ledger

What has actually been on my counter

Hands-on means I owned it, used it and can point to the evidence. Everything else is editorially researched, with that boundary kept visible on the page.

Everything else, by subject

10 clusters. Every article that belongs to the keep-set has a home here.

The espresso bar

28 articles

Choosing an espresso machine starts with the drink you make and the workflow you will repeat, not the pressure number on the box. Our espresso machine guides cover…

Coffee drinks

46 articles

Latte, cortado, flat white, macchiato. What each drink actually is, how they differ, and how to make them at home.

Coffee chains

52 articles

Starbucks, Dutch Bros, Dunkin and the rest. Menus, sizes, secret orders and what is actually in the cup.

Decide the evidence level first

Owned it? Hands-on. Not owned it? Editorially researched. The label is set before the words are written.

Name the compromise

Every pick gets a stated downside. A roundup where every product is excellent is a roundup nobody checked.

Film it if I own it

The video is evidence with a date, a face and a machine you can see; it is not a substitute for a label.

Re-verify on a schedule

Price, stock and discontinued models are checked again as the page changes, not only when a typo is fixed.
